MEETING OF EVEP, TEPAK AND COMMUNITIES OF INEIA AND ARODA IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EUROPEAN INTERREG-CROSS COASTAL NET PROGRAM

A meeting was held on Thursday, 16/06/2022 at the Community Council of Inia between the Community Leader of Inia Mr. Giagos Tsivikos, the Mayor of Arodes Mr. Mattheos Stefanos, a delegation of EBE Paphos and a delegation of the Cyprus University of Technology. The meeting took place in the framework of the European program INTERREG-CROSS COASTAL NET: Development of a Cross-Border Network for the Promotion of Sustainable Coastal Tourism AKAMAS-BALOS where EBEP participates as one of the key partners of the project. The meeting on behalf of the Chamber was attended by the Head of European Programs, Officer of the Chamber, Mr. Stefanos Chatziioannou, while on behalf of TEPAK, the Assistant Professor Dr. was present. Petros Kosmas and Mrs. Maria Panagopoulou.

The meeting was constructive as ways of cooperation were discussed in order to achieve a proper study of the current situation in the study area of Paphos District. More specifically, questionnaires have been given to the Communities of the Wider Akama region in order to collect data on the development and structure of business activities in the region, as well as data on the natural & man-made environment, the evolution of the population and the number of visitors to Akamas area, as well as spatial data, including land use data.

Attendees will renew their appointment at a later stage for further discussion and analysis of the data.
